We are very excited to announce the first 2020 offering of Advanced Wilderness Life Support! This fast paced and challenging course is deigned for medical professionals who wish to begin to scratch the surface of practicing medicine in austere environments. This course provides a practical foundation in wilderness and austere care for medical professionals. The course will emphasize strong patient assessment techniques to make better treatment decisions in a resource limited environment. The participating provider is trained in methods to manage medical and traumatic incidents, as well best practices to treat urgent care complaints in the wilderness and during evacuation.

- Patient Packaging & Evacuation
- Submersion Injuries
- Water Disinfection & Purification
- Wound & Musculoskeletal Injuries Management
Approximately half of the course time is spent in small groups or participating in hands on teaching sessions with mock victim scenarios.
AWLS is approved for up to 20.5 hours of AMA/PRA Category 1 Credits through the Wilderness Medical Society.
